Undergraduate Academic Programs

Art & Design

  • The Shari Flaming Center for the Arts provides a fully-equipped Mac design lab with Adobe Creative Cloud. Painting & drawing, ceramics, and photo studios will give you an immersive experience in your education and career path.

  • Strengthen skills to communicate and engage with others in church, community, and society.

Biblical & Theological Studies

  • Find how God has called, gifted, and designed you, and find your place in God’s story.
  • Discover diverse programming that will open the door to a career in ministry, including pastoral/youth ministry, church-planting, contemporary worship leading, humanitarian aid or social services.
  • Dive deeper with faculty in mentoring relationships and building a strong foundation in studies and personal faith.
  • Become equipped in head, heart, and hands for a wide variety of ministries.

Business

  • We want to train a generation of stewards for God’s kingdom. Stewardship embodies servant leadership, professional business knowledge, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Along with your professors, you can learn from industry experts through lectures, internships, field experience, guest faculty, and community partnerships.
  • Work alongside businesses and participate in Tabor’s chapter of DECA, helping leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.
  • All business majors can do internships or travel abroad to work and/or study internationally.

Communications

  • Learning in the classroom and through professional internships and mentoring relationships, Tabor College’s Communications program seeks to prepare students to be effective communicators in diverse settings of learning, work, and service for Christ and his kingdom.
  • Broaden your knowledge and management of digital, print, and social media platforms.
  • Intern with area businesses and organizations or work alongside your classmates in our student-run publications, The Tabor College View (magazine) and The Bluejay (yearbook).
  • Choose a minor from one of four disciplines that can also easily be paired with Communications or other programs on campus.

Computer Science

  • Hone your problem-solving and communication skills highly sought after by employers.
  • Studying computer science in Tabor’s liberal arts and decidedly Christian context provides a highly sought-after skillset in an AI-driven world.
  • The program ranges from 45 to 60 credit hours, depending on the concentration, and will equip you with the skills you need to thrive in the marketplace.
  • The program and its professors will equip you with the necessary skills in one of the fastest-growing industries worldwide. The new major was ranked as one of the fastest-growing occupations by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Criminal Justice

  • Students will be given the opportunity to explore and understand Criminal Justice through the lens of the Christian faith, including leadership training that reflects Christian values.
  • Our state-of-the-art Force Reduction Simulator gives you a firsthand look at utilizing ethical principles and de-escalation techniques in the field.
  • Learn how to apply data-driven, intelligence-led, community-based, and restorative techniques.
  • Practical applications also include investigations, interviewing, stop and frisk, arrest and search and seizure.

English

  • Explore the ways language and literature connect us to God and to each other.
  • Study a variety of texts—from ancient to contemporary and in multiple formats—to develop advanced critical thinking skills.
  • A small faculty-to-student ratio allows you to work closely with peers and professors.
  • English majors are encouraged to participate in student services, providing opportunities to tutor fellow students and also hone skills for future careers.

Health & Human Performance

  • Opportunities for internships can include the San Diego Padres, Sporting Kansas City, U.S. Olympic Training Center, Hesston Wellness Center, and YMCAs. You can also intern on campus to reduce travel during the academic year.
  • Your undergraduate degree at Tabor can transition into a one or two-year Master of Business Administration in Sports Management & Leadership and Global Sports Leadership.

History

  • Pair a passion for history and education to teach in secondary education.
  • Graduates are prepared for teaching, international relations, law school, or graduate school.

Music

  • The mission of the Tabor College Music Department is to train artist-scholars as they pursue their vocational calling to use their musical gifts for Jesus Christ as teachers, studio instructors, church ministry leaders, and in musical theatre.
  • The Shari Flaming Center for the Arts, which features an 839-seat Richert Auditorium, provides a signature space for students to excel in any facet of their career and passion for music and theatre.
  • Concentrations in Musical Theatre, Worship Leadership, and Performance set the stage for opportunities to perform in various music ensembles or theatre productions.
  • Music Education students get hands-on experience teaching piano, voice, guitar, woodwinds, and brass in the Music Preparatory School. These students have all received job placements after completing their degrees.

Nursing

  • Our nursing program is a program partnership with Hesston College, and it allows you to study and collaborate in premier simulation labs, practice rooms, and virtual reality (VR).
  • Cutting-edge technology and realistic experience leave you prepared for your career.
  • Streamlined entry to the nursing program is possible depending on GPA and test scores.
  • The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) Pass Rate is consistently above the national leverage.

Science & Mathematics

  • Discover God as you study His creation and the convergence of mathematics, medicine, and science.
  • Starting as freshmen, students receive hands-on experience with one of the best laboratories in the region, utilizing modern instrumentation.
  • The AED Chapter of the Pre-Health Honor Society prepares students who want to work in any health field. Over 90 percent of our pre-med graduates are accepted into medical school.
  • Be a part of Tabor’s new computer science major in fall 2024, including concentrations in bioinformatics, computer science, data analytics, and software engineering.

Social & Behavioral Science

  • The mission of the Tabor College Social & Behavioral Sciences is to equip you with values, knowledge, and skills to be helping agents in a diverse world while integrating a Christian faith perspective and enabling you to serve those in need with compassion and professionalism.
  • A small student body provides a strong foundation for Social & Behavioral Science students, leading you to deeper relationships and interactions with your peers and professors.
  • Our Social Work department is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation, allowing you to earn a master’s degree in one year upon graduation from Tabor.
  • Professors bring in practical experience in their field of expertise.

Teacher Education

  • We believe teaching is a calling, emphasizing a biblical worldview in all aspects of teacher education. The faculty focus on Christ-centered education and mentorship while preparing you for a life of service through teaching.
  • Opened in 2021, the Shari Flaming Education Commons offers state-of-the-art facilities for all aspiring educators. It is equipped with flexible classroom space designed for elementary and secondary education majors, including a curriculum library.
  • Pre-education majors participate in classroom field experience within their first year at Tabor.
  • Students pursuing a career in teaching have a 100-percent job placement rate. You are prepared to teach in private or public education.

Graduate & Online Programs

Master of Business Administration

  • The program is delivered in a hybrid or online format.
  • Eighteen credit hours comprise the six core classes. Each emphasis also carries an additional 18 credit hours.
  • When you complete your degree, you will be equipped to make the world a better place, helping you discern your career as a calling to partner with Christ and His kingdom.

Master of Education in Neuroscience & Trauma

  • Tabor’s Master of Education in Neuroscience and Trauma is designed for anyone who works with children/youth who have suffered chronic stress and/or trauma. M.Ed. Graduates include teachers, social workers, police officers, ministers, foster parents, adoptive parents, therapists, and more.
  • The program is the only fully online Neuroscience AND Trauma Program in the country. In addition to asynchronous courses, synchronous courses are provided to allow students interaction with peers and faculty every week.
  • Our students progress sequentially from neuroanatomy/physiology to behavior analysis and trauma-informed skills.
  • M.Ed. students can produce a traditional master’s thesis or choose to work on alternative capstone experiences/projects tailored to their respective professions.
  • Students become transformed because personal development is integrated through self-reflective assignments that apply knowledge to practice throughout the program.

Neuroscience & Trauma Certificate

  • Taking all six courses sequentially will lead to a certificate in Neuroscience and Trauma. Tabor certificate program graduates will enter their classrooms equipped to help students who suffer from disadvantages and will be prepared to implement trauma-responsive educational practices in their schools and districts.
  • This program will provide answers based on new research and science to create in you a more skilled educator.
  • This certificate program is a self-paced fully online program that can be completed in one year.
