Fall New Student Orientation

New student and parent orientation is coordinated by the Student Life office. Orientation welcomes new students to campus and includes getting to know other new students and student leaders, a service day, activities sponsored by Student Activities Board, registration, information sessions, a worship service and other activities to help new students become acclimated to being students at Tabor College. Orientation is held on the weekend before classes begin.

Fall Check-in Dates 2019


Wednesday, Aug. 7, 1:00-4:00 p.m.: Freshman football players arrive on campus. Dinner is provided for students (families may purchase a meal to join them). Parent orientation will take place this evening.


Friday, Aug. 9, 1:00-4:00 p.m.: Freshman fall athletes (except for football) arrive on campus. Dinner is provided for students (families may purchase a meal to join them). Parent orientation will take place Saturday morning, followed by confirmation of registration and financial settlement.


Friday, Aug. 16, 1:00-4:00 p.m.: The rest of the freshmen arrive on campus. Dinner is provided for students (families may purchase the meal to join them).


Sunday, Aug. 18, 1:00-3:00 p.m. More details to follow.

Tabor College Freshman Orientation 2019

Friday, Aug. 16: Freshman Orientation Begins!

Freshman orientation begins with an opening session, followed by a family reception at President Glanzer’s home while students are involved in a campus activity with their O Group.

Saturday, Aug. 17: All freshmen will participate in a service project with their O Group. Parent orientation will take place that morning. After a dedication service in the afternoon it is time to say goodbye to parents. We will end the day with food, music, and games on the Plaza!

Sunday, Aug. 18: Morning worship service and afternoon workshops: learn about the Tabor community and how to get involved on campus, how to connect your devices to Tabor’s Wifi network, and how to get Microsoft Office Suite for free. Enjoy dessert with your O Group in the evening, followed by Movie on the Lawn.

Monday, Aug. 19: Freshmen who did not register the previous week will confirm their registration and do financial settlement, followed by a tour of campus to know where all your classrooms are. Then we will kick off Welcome Week with an outdoor dinner for all students, faculty, and staff and a Commissioning of the 2019-2020 year.

Monday-Saturday, Aug. 19-24: Welcome Week – Each evening a different activity is planned to help students get involved and acquainted with campus life.

Tuesday, Aug. 20: Fall classes begin.
