What is Tabor College’s Transparent Pricing Initiative?

Starting with the 2026-2027 academic year, Tabor College will reduce the All-Inclusive Price for all students in the traditional undergraduate program from $49,500 to $29,500 per year. It is part of Tabor’s multiyear commitment to transparency, affordability, and accessibility in Christian higher education. We are simplifying the cost conversation to make it easier to understand. Our Transparent Pricing Initiative makes a Tabor degree a more attainable and powerful investment for you.

Why is Tabor College lowering the all-inclusive price?

Colleges often post a high sticker price and then subtract large scholarships from it. Even with generous aid, the first number can discourage students from applying. Tabor is changing that. By reducing the published all-inclusive price, we move discounts typically applied through financial aid up front. It is closer to what you actually pay for a Tabor education.

What if you are a new student?

All traditional undergraduate students starting in Fall 2026 will benefit from the new all-inclusive price of $29,500. Scholarships will be adjusted to match the sticker price.

What if you are a current student?

Students who enrolled under the previous “high cost, high scholarship” model will receive recalculated, inflation-adjusted aid packages that preserve the value of their scholarships and financial aid. You will not pay more than your inflation-adjusted price unless your FAFSA results change.

Will financial aid continue?

Yes. Tabor still offers merit-based scholarships, including academic, athletic, and co-curricular awards, adjusted to the new pricing structure. Need-based aid and grants will continue to be awarded to ensure access to a Tabor education for students across income levels.

Does a lower All-Inclusive price mean fewer programs or services?

No. Students will continue to have access to Tabor’s full range of academic programs, student services, and campus experiences. Nothing that you love about the Tabor experience is being cut.

Is Tabor doing this because of financial struggles?

No. In fact, just the opposite. We are launching this initiative from a position of strength. The fall 2025 semester had full undergraduate enrollment. Graduate programs are thriving with record numbers of new students in back-to-back years. Operational budgets have been balanced for several years. Fundraising is strong. Our Endowment has grown by 50%, and thanks to generous donors, we are building a new Business and Entrepreneurship Center. This initiative is coming because we believe it is the right thing to do. It is clear, simple pricing that will help more students and families choose a decidedly Christian education.

What else is Tabor doing to support affordability and student success?

Tabor continues to:

  • Bundle basic direct costs (tuition, housing, food, all fees, and accident insurance) into one easy-to-understand price.
  • Loan textbooks at no additional cost as part of our all-inclusive price.
  • Grow our endowment, which helps fund scholarships and reduces student loan dependence through the generosity of our donors.
  • Invest in career preparation, internships, and mentorship programs that set students up for success beyond graduation.

Does this initiative apply to graduate programs?

No. Graduate and online programs already operate under streamlined pricing models. However, we remain committed to affordability and transparency across all Tabor programs and will continue to seek opportunities to improve pricing for these programs.

What role do donors play?

Donors play an essential role in funding a Tabor education. However, donor money only covers a fraction of current scholarships. The majority of the Tabor scholarship money that students see on their financial aid package is simply a discount. Previously, a $25,000 scholarship could have included $4,000 donor money and a $21,000 discount. Under the new pricing, it would be $4,000 donor money and a $1,000 discount.
