Move-Out Process

Because of the timing of national decision-making about COVID-19 and Tabor’s spring break week, most students left belongings on campus when departing for spring break. Know that we have changed all outer door locks on campus and double-checked that all residence windows are locked to ensure your belongings are safe on campus. In the meantime, staff will be taking care of general clean-up in residence halls.

At this time, the Tabor College campus is currently closed to everyone except for essential employees. In the meantime, we are working hard on our end to shift the infrastructure needed to execute the move-out process with excellence. The final decision for a move-out timeline and process will be based on the following:

1)      CDC, state, and local guidelines/restrictions

2)      Structured to best protect the health and safety of the Tabor and Hillsboro community

At this point, there is not clear a date or time frame in which we can execute the move-out process following the above guidelines, but we will be evaluating the feasibility of that weekly. Meanwhile, we will be creating a new Express Check-Out and piloting the process to ensure that it is as seamless as possible when you are able to move your belongings out of the residence halls. When there is a window in which we can both follow CDC, state, and local health orders, as well as protect the health and safety of the Tabor and Hillsboro community, we will communicate with you immediately about move-out dates.

For now, if you have medical supplies/medications or resources necessary to complete your online courses, please reach out to the Student Life Office at studentlife@tabor.edu. We will do our best to quickly locate these items for you and either mail them or arrange a pick-up location off-campus for you to get them.

We understand the significant impact the COVID-19 situation has on you and the remainder of your spring semester. We appreciate your patience and grace with us as we navigate these swiftly changing dynamics. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

2020-2021 Housing Sign-Up Process

The sign-up process for your housing placement next year, which typically takes place in person in late-April, is being redesigned to be completed fully online later this semester. We are in the process of this redesign and are working to make the new process as clear as possible. Check back here for more updates and details about the timeline and process. We are so looking forward to you all being back on campus with us in the fall!

Connecting with One Another

Our residence halls are traditionally a place where students experience a strong sense of two of Tabor’s core values: community and involvement. In the coming days, check back here to learn about avenues we are creating for you to connect with the other students you lived with on campus.
