HILLSBORO, Kan.— Music and Teacher Education both met accreditation renewal requirements through the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE).
Since first receiving accreditation in 1970, Tabor College’s affiliation with NASM has helped position music majors and students with an education that allows them to thrive on and off campus.
“NASM’s affirmation is a reflection of our quality faculty with strong credentials and foundational course offerings,” said Sheila Litke, D.M.A., performing and visual arts department chair. “It also represents our continued efforts as faculty to maintain the high standards of excellence that have represented Tabor for many years.”
KSDE provided unanimous approval of Teacher Education’s re-accreditation. With field experience within the first year at Tabor, majors are thriving from the start of their time on campus.
“This is incredible news for any prospective student and any current student in our program,” said Lisa Moore, M.Ed., teacher education department chair. “With a job-placement rate of 100 percent post-graduation, it further affirms that our accredited program is producing great teachers.”
