Riley Collins (SR, Henderson, Nev.) for being selected to make an interactive poster presentation at the 2026 American Chemical Society (ACS) National Spring Conference in Atlanta, Ga., on March 22.
Collins was selected from a highly competitive field and will be joined by James Titah, Ph.D., Allen Hiebert Chair of Sciences. He will also give a presentation on collaborative research.
Collins shared her experience of being selected for this prestigious honor.
I first had to get my research chosen for the conference as a whole. For that to happen, I had to write a brief introduction to my research and got word in December that I’d been chosen to give a normal poster presentation. In January, I got an email about the iPoster event and I’d been chosen to change my physical poster into a digital one. Making the poster includes finalizing chemical structures, reviewing and remaking tables with information like the solubility and melting points of my compounds, and writing about my results. This presentation is extremely selective, so the fact that I’ve been chosen for it is not only a huge honor for me, but is also great for Dr. Titah and Tabor in general. This will help me gain more experience in presenting and answering questions at a higher level. On top of that, it will help me talk to professors at other colleges with graduate programs besides the ones I’ve already applied for. This presentation opens a lot of doors for me as well as other students at Tabor, current and future, so I’m extremely honored to have this opportunity to represent Tabor on such a large national stage!”
