Jason Schroeder, winner of the 2020 Staff Excellence Award at Tabor College, continues a strong family tradition of service that totals more than 100 years at the college. His father, Vince Schroeder, and mother Marcia Schroeder, along with grandparents Ken and Ruby Schroeder, have worked as staff members and volunteers at Tabor.
Schroeder, who serves as facilities coordinator/custodial manager at Tabor, said he really likes the variety of his job and the opportunity to interact with college students and work on their behalf.
“I really care about the students and serving them,” he said.
Terry Ens, director of facilities at Tabor, affirms Schroeder’s reliability to carry through on his responsibilities.
“This award couldn’t go to a more deserving individual,” said Ens, noting that Schroeder consistently provides great service to students and blesses the facilities team with his contributions. “You don’t know Jason’s there, but he’s always around.”
Schroeder, a Hillsboro High School graduate, is an outdoor enthusiast, with his favorite activities being bass fishing and upland game hunting.
