HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College is proud to announce the 2016 Dean A. and Carol Nachtigall Lecture Series on Entrepreneurship featuring Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Equity Bancshares Brad Elliott. The event will be held March 29 and will include sessions for students and community members.
Elliott will be on campus meeting and speaking to a number of groups starting with an 8:00 a.m., session with business students and continuing through the day. The event will culminate with an evening lecture at 7:00 p.m., where Elliott will share his business experiences since graduating from McPherson College to his current role as CEO.
The Tabor College Dean A. and Carol Nachtigall Lecture Series on Entrepreneurship is designed to bring high profile, nationally or regionally-recognized, guest lecturers to Tabor. Through sharing with students their business experience and activities, the lecturers inspire undergraduates to become successful in their careers and communities.
“Brad Elliott is the perfect fit for Tabor’s lecture series on entrepreneurship,” said Business Department Chair Dr. Norman Hope. “Our students will benefit from hearing about Brad’s journey beginning with a college experience not different from that of their own. My hope is that the servant leadership he shows in his career and community engagement inspires them to follow his example.”
In 2001 Elliott was named one of the Wichita Business Journal’s “40 Under 40,” and in 2015 he was honored in the publication’s hall of fame for the recognition. Elliott has 20 plus years of experience in banking, sales, and marketing. He began in his career as a teller at Home State Bank in McPherson, Kan. Over time Elliott has added sales and marketing experience through positions at Koch Industries and Sunflower Bank before earning the top spot at Equity Bancshares in Wichita, Kan.
Elliott’s experience proves that career and community engagement go hand-in-hand. He has served in a number of volunteer roles including on the McPherson College Board of Trustees, the Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce, as a board member for Via Christi Health, and Kansas Bankers Association. He has also held local leadership positions with United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and is a member of the Young President’s Organization.
