Hannah Obia Receives Nursing Scholarship

nurseWICHITA, Kan. – Tabor College senior nursing student, Hannah Obia, received the Herbert Austin, Jr. Nursing Scholarship in the amount of $1,400. The scholarship is being used for the 2015 spring and summer semesters.

The Wichita, Kan., native currently has a 3.696 GPA is planning to receive her nursing pin in May.

​“I appreciate the gracious act afforded by the Herbert Austin Jr. Family,” Obia said. “They absolutely reinforce my belief in public service; giving back!”

Nursing chair and professor, Marlene Pietrocola, said: “Hannah is very deserving of this scholarship.  ​I see great potential in her leadership and instrumental impact for the future of nursing.”

“My experience at Tabor College has been wonderful,” she expressed. “The staff is not only knowledgeable, but friendly and provides personal attention. I also love the small class size because you get more time with the instructor and individualized attention.​” 

After Obia graduates in August 2015, she plans on working part-time while obtaining her master’s degree in nursing.
