HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College alumni, their families, parents and friends of the school are invited to celebrate the start of the football season with a free tailgate event in Mitchell, S.D.
The Bluejays travel to face the Dakota Wesleyan University Tigers on September 3rd for their first contest of the year. Tabor welcomes those in the Mitchell area or those traveling to the game to enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs and Hillsboro sausage at 11:00 am.
To help support the team on the road, the alumni office has organized the event before the game hoping it will bring fans out.
“We look for opportunities throughout the year to support our alumni by embracing the activities they enjoyed during their time at Tabor,” said Rod Hamm director of alumni. “People have responded positively to these types of events where they can bring their families, reconnect with fellow alums and support their alma mater.”
To participate, join Hamm at the southwest corner of 11th Ave and Capital in Mitchell. The event location will be across from the visitor parking lot near the stadium at 501-599 11th Ave, Mitchell, S.D. Hamm requests that those who want to attend bring a chair or blanket.
The Bluejays are ranked first in the KCAC and eighth in the NAIA to start the season. Kickoff is at 1:00 pm.
