Concerto Bella Voce Home Concert

CBVPosterForWeb (2)HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Tabor College Concerto Bella Voce Women’s Choir will perform their annual home concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 29 at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with the theme “Illumination.”

The choir is under the direction of Janie Brokenicky and accompanied by Jennifer Epp of Hillsboro, Kan. Brokenicky is in her third year as assistant professor of choral music at Tabor College and is the founder of the Concerto Bella Voce Women’s Choir.

“This year, the music in our concert focuses on the light of Christ, both literally and figuratively,” Brokenicky said. “Our program includes contemporary settings of scripture, traditional hymns and uplifting texts.”

Comprised of 20 women, the group is excited to share their musical talents and love of Jesus Christ with listeners.

“Music has the ability to spark a light in all of us,” she added. “As one of our songs, ‘Voices of Light’ by Paul Halley, states, ‘Lord of the shining heavens, Lord of the stars above, Lighten our eyes to see you, Radiant with perfect love.’ We hope our program fills each listener with a little piece of His light.”
