Lifelong Learning Oct. 2

Musical Visions TrioHILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College’s Lifelong Learning program at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 2 entitled “This is My Father’s World – A Celebration of Beauty in Nature, Music and Art” will be presented by Musical Visions Trio in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center in Hillsboro.

Flutist Vada Snider, pianist Karen Loucks and photographer Duane Graham created a program of music and art designed to fill the senses and rejuvenate the soul. The program includes music based on nature themes, both sacred and secular; photos of natural wonders, from Kansas to Morocco; humorous drawings by Jesse Graber; and art by Bob Regier.

Sacred selections include “You Raise Me Up” and “How Can I Keep from Singing.” “Four Seasons,” an original composition by Karen Loucks, will be featured. Humorous selections, accompanied by Graber’s drawings, include “Lovesick Gazelle” and “Tarantella for a Troublesome Turnip.” Photographer Duane Graham designed the slide presentations that will accompany the music.

“For me, photography is an approach to personal expression, an artistic outlet, a means of inspiration,” Graham said. “In this effort to record the world as we see it—and feel it—we, as photographers, artists and musicians, strive to please.
