Tabor College’s DECA chapter again asserted itself as one of the state’s finest. As hosts of the annual competition, 22 of its 24 students placed inside the top three. Participating schools included: Tabor College, Southwestern, Kansas Wesleyan, Cowley College, Johnson Community College, Wichita State, Kansas, and Fort Hays State.
Melinda Rangel, Ed.D., Marvin Sellberg Professor of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship, serves as Tabor’s advisor and oversees Kansas Collegiate DECA. She said the performance was Tabor’s best at the state level.
“It’s a testament to the level of instruction our students receive from all our business department professors,” Rangel said. “It’s exciting to see the growth of our DECA chapter in terms of numbers and the improvement in our competition and performance.”
