Tabor celebrates 2020-21 Honors Convocation

As the 2020-21 academic year nears its end, the college honored students and faculty at Honors Convocation. A total of 13 awards and/or scholarships were given.

Clarence R. Hiebert Excellence in Teaching Award

Given annually to the faculty member who best exemplifies the qualities of excellent teaching at Tabor College. These qualities include:

  • A strong Christian commitment.
  • Record of excellence in teaching, as shown by peer and student reviews. The faculty member will have completed at least one three-year evaluation at Tabor College.
  • Evidence of integrating faith and learning.
  • Commitment to Tabor College as an institution, as shown in support of departments outside one’s own area.

Kornelius Hiebert Outstanding Student Merit Award

A cumulative GPA of 3.3 and demonstrated leadership on campus are among the criteria required for this honor and monetary scholarship.
