Tabor College Announces Closing on Monday, February 15 thru Tuesday, Noon

February 15, 2021 Update

Tabor College will be closed for business on Tuesday, February 16 until noon.  All classes Tuesday morning will be remote. Classes with start times of noon or later will convene as scheduled.

Employees should report to their respective offices at noon.  Prospective student campus visits will be rescheduled to noon or later.

The dining hall will serve breakfast (8-9am), lunch and supper as usual. Continuous service will be provided between meal times.  The Courtside Grille will be open as usual. Starbucks will open at noon.  The new faculty luncheon will be held as scheduled.

The library will be open for students to study from 9 AM to 3 PM on Tuesday.

All extra-curricular activities will go forward as scheduled. This includes athletic department afternoon practices and workouts.


February 12, 2021

Due to extreme temperatures, Tabor College will be closed for business on Monday, February 15, 2021. Projected 10-year lows and accumulation of snow make this a particularly dangerous forecast. Out of an abundance of caution, Tabor will be closed with a number of caveats.

All classes and chapel on Monday are cancelled. The library will be open for students to study from 9 AM to 3 PM.  Prospective student campus visits will be rescheduled.  All extra-curricular activities are cancelled or postponed. 

The dining hall will serve breakfast, lunch and supper as usual. Continuous service will be provided between meal times.  The Courtside Grill will be closed.  Adrienne’s (Starbucks) will be open from 7 am to 4:30 pm.

Employees are not required to report to their respective offices. The facilities crew will insure basic snow removal taken care of Monday morning as needed.  For any physical plant emergencies that might arise on Monday, students can call Terry Ens at 620-382-6591.  

The College recommends that everyone stay indoors as much as possible.
