Shin-hee Chin Chosen for Annual Kyle Lecture Series

Shin-hee Chin Drawing ClassHILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College is pleased to announce that internationally recognized fiber artist Professor Shin-hee Chin will present this year’s Dr. Richard G. Kyle Faculty Lecture.

Chin will speak on the topic “Faith and Fiber: A Slow Process.” The lecture will take place in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center Lobby at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, and is open to the public.

“I am honored to be a presenter for the Kyle Lecture series,” said Chin. “My presentation will address the issue of ‘interweaving of faith and art’ and will review the historical trends on the relationship between religion and art. I hope the audience sees the spiritual bridge between Christianity and visual arts in the artwork I have created.”

The Dr. Richard G. Kyle Faculty Lecture Series is an annual event founded to encourage scholarship and to recognize the work of a Tabor College faculty member. Chin has been employed at Tabor since 2005, occupying her present position of associate professor of art since 2011.
