Salina schools interview Tabor education students

The Tabor College Education Department hosted a human resources team from USD 305 Salina Public Schools Oct. 10 regarding a fall interview forum focusing on potential student teachers.

Fourteen Tabor students were interviewed during the two-and-a-half hour process. At least five students were offered contracts, according to Kristen Martens, administrative assistant for Tabor’s department.

“The event went really well,” Martens said. “It was great to have our students gain interview experience, and we are excited for those who were offered contracts. It was great having eight district HR and district administrators visit campus. The feedback from everyone has been really positive on the whole experience.”

Rae Brechelsen, a recruitment specialist for USD 305, told Martens, “Thank you so much for allowing us to come to your campus and interview your amazing students. The feedback was wonderful and all of the administrators were truly impressed by the talent you are producing.”

Martens said this is the first year the interview forum has come to Tabor’s campus, but Salina is already talking about doing it this again next year.
