HILLSBORO, Kan.— Tabor College announced its second-best year of giving in the institution’s history, with 1,687 unique donors contributing $2.39 million to the Tabor Fund during the 2025-26 fiscal year. Combined with restricted gifts, total fundraising reached $11.65 million. This total includes over $3.5 million in federal and private grants received through competitive applications.
Support for the Tabor Fund provides scholarships for students and supports academic programs, student life initiatives, and campus improvements that directly enhance the student experience.
The momentum extended beyond annual giving as Tabor surpassed the halfway point of the $90 million Next Century Campaign with $45.27 million now given toward securing a thriving future for generations of students. That includes $9.57 million toward the Business and Entrepreneurship Center (BEC), a state-of-the-art, 26,533-square-foot facility that will be home to Tabor’s largest major and promote ideation and entrepreneurial opportunities for Tabor students and the surrounding area.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our friends and alumni who are affirming their belief in Tabor’s Christ-centered mission and investing with hope in our students, ” said President David Janzen, Ph.D. (g’90). “This remarkable year of giving is creating opportunities and equipping the next generation to serve and lead wherever God leads them.”
Donor generosity is already transforming campus through major capital improvements and strategic investments.
Over $2 million in gifts fully funded the renovation of East Hall, including remodeled bathrooms and other needed improvements. Half of the 64-bed residence hall will reopen to students in fall 2026. With the help of a 3:1 matching grant from the American Rescue Plan Act and over 40 Tabor donors, more than $400,000 was raised to replace the 150-plus windows in the H.W. Lohrenz Administration Building.
Thanks to major gifts, Tabor’s endowment has surpassed $34 million—70 percent growth in five years— with a goal of reaching $50 million by the completion of the campaign in 2030.
