Mayoral Town Hall October 12th

Tabor College Student Center and GymHILLSBORO, Kan- Tabor College will host the Hillsboro mayoral candidates for an evening of debate Thursday, Oct. 12 at Java Jays in the Student Center.

Candidates Charlotte Kennedy Takahashi and Lou Thurston will answer prepared questions as well as those from the audience.

The event will start promptly at 6 p.m. and will go until about 7 p.m.

Jessica D. Klanderud, assistant professor of history at Tabor College, will be asking the candidates a series of questions and moderating the event.

 “I’m looking forward to the community coming out and listening to their candidates,” Klanderud said. “The mayor is a very important position and I’m glad the community has the opportunity to come and hear from their candidates so they can make an informed choice.”

Hillsboro residents and students to gain more information about the candidates and be actively involved with their local community.

“I am delighted that Tabor College can provide the setting for the public to become better acquainted with the candidates for mayor,” said President Jules Glanzer. “Hosting the debate is a great opportunity for our students to gain experience in the political arena.
