  • The overdue fine for regular circulating materials is 50 cents per day.  There is a 3-day grace period in which materials may be returned and no fine will be charged
  • The overdue fine for Reserves is 50 cents per hour
  • The overdue fine for Interlibrary Loan materials is $1.00 per day

Loan Periods

  • Regular Loan Period for Print Books, Music Scores, Music CD's, DVD's:  28 days
  • Interlibrary Loan:  Varies by Vendor
  • Reserves:  Varies by Professor

Lost or Damaged Materials

  • Patrons will be charged the replacement cost of the item plus a $25 processing for materials that are lost or damaged

Overdue Notices

  • Overdue notices are sent by email as a courtesy when materials are overdue.  Borrowers are responsible for returning or renewing materials on time whether or not a notice has been received.

Renewals

  • Materials will be renewed for an additional loan period if a hold has not been placed on that item.  Renewals may be made in person, via telephone, or via email.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

  • The loan period for Interlibrary Loan Materials is set by the lending library and is typically 3-4 weeks.  The Tabor College Librarian makes every effort to provide ILL materials free of charge to those making an Interlibrary Loan request but at times there may be a requested charge by the lending library.  Patrons will be notified in advance if a charge has been requested and may either accept the charge or reject the request.
  • Most libraries will not ordinarily lend the following types of material:
    1. Rare or valuable materials
    2. Bulky or fragile materials that are difficult or expensive to ship
    3. Materials in high demand at the supplying library
    4. Materials with local circulation restrictions
    5. Unique materials that would be difficult or impossible to replace
