The Institute for American Media Studies is a 501(c)(3) Christian education non-profit whose mission is finding internships for Christian students who want to spend a semester studying in Washington, D.C. The course of study includes day-long seminars one day a week. Students spend four days a week working an internship with media in and around Washington, D.C.
Credit – Students are allowed to seek a reciprocal agreement between the Institute for American Media Studies and their colleges in order to gain up to 6 semester hours of internship credit for work completed at their internships and up to 6 semester hours of class credit for the weekly day-long seminars and events.
Housing – While the Institute for American Media Studies does not provide housing, registered students are provided housing leads for room and board in and around Washington, D.C. Students can pursue housing through friends or relatives as well, thereby saving money on room and board.
Admission Fees – Admission fees for the Institute for American Media Studies are a low $2,500. per semester, whether the student is attending in summer, fall or spring. Sometimes partial scholarships are offered to students who can demonstrate financial need.
