Tabor College Opera presents “A Royal Feaste.” Event guests will experience a re-imagined version of the historic feast of carnival held at the court of the Duke and Dutchess Gonzaga at Mantua in 1607, where guests ate a delicious meal and enjoyed a presentation of court composer Claudio Monteverdi’s La favola d’Orfeo, a short musical drama that tells the story of Orpheus and Eurydice from Greek mythology. La favola d’Orfeo has remained in the common repertory of classical musicians since it’s first performance, and we are excited to present this classic in its original format to Tabor audiences.
