Lifelong Learning: Save a Dog/Save a Warrior

February 17, 2017 @ 9:45 am

Speaker: Janice Ronald: Co-owner and founder of Family Dog Training & Behavioral Center
Janice Ronald has worked with and trained dogs for 30 years. In the past six years, Janice has expanded her work to helping Veterans and others with disabilities, find and train service dogs. Janice will explain the process of finding an appropriate dog to train as a service dog, typically to mitigate symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and other
psychological disorders. She will cover the specific ways a properly trained dog can assist the handler by alerting to symptoms, positional training to protect, and interruptive behaviors to intervene in the handlers unwanted behavior.

Special note: Due to construction on campus, parking near the Wohlgemuth will not be available this year. However, we have made arrangements for Lifelong Learning attendees to park in the lot just south of the library. For those who would like, we will also be providing a golf cart shuttle service available from the library parking lot to the WMEC.
