Doane Named Director of Communications at Tabor College

Amy Doane Director of CommunicationsHILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College is pleased to welcome Amy Doane as the new director of communications.

Doane grew up on a family farm in Downs, Kan., and graduated from Sterling College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in advocacy and political communication in 2002. Following graduation, Doane worked in the Washington, D.C., area for a variety of non-profit trade and membership associations. During her career Doane has worked primarily with agriculture and education focused organizations including The Fertilizer Institute, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), ASCD, and USA Rice.

Doane has been looking for an opportunity to come back to Kansas for the next steps in her career.

“I am excited to continue the next steps of my career at Tabor College,” said Doane. This opportunity allows me to live closer to family and work in a Christ-centered environment. I have already met so many amazing people and am thrilled to be part of the team at Tabor.”

Ron Braun, vice president for advancement, welcomes Doane back to Kansas too.

“Tabor College is glad to welcome Amy back to her home state. Along with her experiences in associations, Amy brings a passion for education and community,” said Braun. “Amy’s understanding of communications and marketing for non-profits will serve her well in the role.”

In addition to her work experience, Doane served on the Arlington County (Va.) Fair Board of Directors for six years and was chair of the board for two years. The volunteer board plans and oversees the annual event that entertains and educates more than 70,000 attendees over five days each summer.

Doane started her new position on Monday, January 18th.
