CMBS Banquet Scheduled for April 23

Peggy Goertzen 2015 CMBS BanquetHILLSBORO, Kan. – The Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies (CMBS) looks forward to its annual spring banquet on April 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Tabor College’s Wohlgemuth building. Minister Linford Holdeman of Halstead will be the keynote speaker addressing “Beginnings and Distinctives of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.”

“We look forward to this event every year and are excited to learn about this branch of the Mennonite family,” said CMBS Director Peggy Goertzen. “We are honored to have Minister Holdeman share with us his knowledge and research. We hope attendees find the information fascinating.”

The banquet, which is open to the public for a fee of $16, serves as an educational and outreach opportunity for CMBS which is a primary resource center and archives for information about the Mennonite Brethren, Tabor College, and related subject areas.

Prior to the banquet CMBS is hosting a Mennonite Heritage Tour from 12:15 to 5:15 p.m. The tour will leave from the Historic Church on the Tabor campus and visit multiple locations in Marion County including Alexanderfeld church and cemetery. The event fee of $30 includes a faspa lunch.
