Setting Sights on the Spring Semester

It’s been a cold Interterm season, with a couple of exceptions of fifty degree weather sprinkled in. The snow in Kansas is beautiful, hiding every inch of open surface with its big, white flakes. However, it didn’t seem to take long for it to melt away into oblivion. It just brought to my mind the metaphorical quality: interterm is still hanging on, but the spring semester is coming to sweep it away very soon.

My interterm class was released a few days before most classes, so I’ve been able to relax and take some time to gear up for the coming semester. On one of those fifty degree days that I mentioned earlier, I packed up my hammock and drove to the Marion Reservoir and spent an afternoon cozied up with a good book. Interterm was good overall, but I needed some time to refresh from the fast pace and tough work.

Looking ahead to the spring semester, I feel pretty confident. I think that I know what to expect thanks to the one semester of college under my belt. Today, I officially registered for the semester and bought my textbooks, making it definitely feel more concrete. I’m excited to see what kinds of new things there will be that I’ll have to adjust to.  My responsibilities are going to be a little more, but the challenge will be good. Another thing that will be different is that most of my classes start at either 11AM or 12pm, much later than my daily 8AM classes last semester!

I’m looking towards this new semester with a sense of excitement and adventure. With only seven semesters of my college career left, I am determined to make the most of it! But for now, my focus is on the short break from homework that I was graced with.

Stay Taborrific!
