Finding a New Normal for a New Semester

It seems like just a few weeks ago that I started my very first semester of college. It obviously has been a little longer than that since first stepping on campus as an official student, but they say time flies when you’re having fun.

Now that I’ve made it through both the fall semester (which went very well) and Interterm (not exactly my favorite part of college), I can confidently enter this term. The first week back to the regular campus schedule has gone well. My own schedule is very different than the previous term, so it has been interesting to find ways to delegate my time. Nearly all of the classes that I am taking count toward my major, meaning that I will enjoy these classes more than I would a general class requirement. Some of them are definitely a little more challenging, but after all, this is college, right?

One fun thing that is changing this semester is the use of the new Shari Flaming Center for the Arts. Chapel is held in the building twice a week, and Thursday’s speaker, Joe White, was phenomenal. Hearing Christ-centered messages with the student body in such a beautiful building will be a great blessing this semester.

With it being so cold out, most everyone is staying inside. It’s getting really hard to find new, fun things to do with friends because believe it or not watching movie after movie gets dull at some point. We’ve been playing a lot of dominoes, cards and even guitar together a few times. Now that the homework is piling up, we all have quite a bit on our plates anyways.

If this semester is anything like the last, I know that I’m going to be getting busier as time goes on. I feel prepared enough to take it all on!
