Traveling is one of my favorite things.

from-the-plane-again

From flying 30,000 feet in the air, seeing the world from above, and getting to land at a new airport. Getting a first taste of a new culture. The world is filled with many landscapes and cultures and not to mention so many beautiful people.

People with stories that are just waiting to be heard. But when you think about it, these aren’t just passport stamps and travel photos, they are stories capturing moments we lived. As we travel the world and experience the different landscapes and cultures, often we can’t help but notice that no matter where in the world we are, God is already there and up to something amazing.

This summer I get the chance to travel to Turkey with friends through Epik Encounter. A place that, in recent news, has had me fearful. I get to meet friends that are more open to hear the good news of Jesus. We can bring hope to this nation.

In his book, David and Goliath, Malcolm Gladwell shares: “… they were not really afraid. They were just afraid of being afraid.”

The love and peace that we can bring families and to a nation that is constantly living in fear will be forever rewarding. A country where so many of these people have never had the chance to hear the Gospel. Not even once. This is exactly what we as Christians have been praying for in the 10/40 window.

The prophet Isaiah writes, “The whole earth is filled with God’s glory.” And that glory was made real when 2,000-some years ago. Of course, that man is Jesus. And throughout the past 2,000 years since, His life has been changing the world.

No matter where in the world I go, where I am, or where I have been. God was and is already there and up to something amazing. The prophet Isaiah writes, “The whole earth is filled with God’s glory.” We can work together using the gifts that God gave us. When we believe in the story of Jesus, life is not just about me anymore. It’s about me working with others to continuing helping even more people hear and believe that Jesus is who He said He was.

Ephesians 2:8. “God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift.” When we put our faith in Jesus, we get a huge gift: life that lasts forever with God. All we have to do is believe.

So here’s to seven more weeks until our Turkey adventure, and a lifetime of seeking His face.
