Allen Tapped as Tabor’s New Cross Country Coach

Joel Allen Cross Country 14-15HILLSBORO, Kan. – Hillsboro native and Tabor College alum Joel Allen has been hired as the new cross country coach for Tabor College.

“When I originally chose to run at Tabor I knew it was a place that I could have an impact and be a leader. I feel the same now coming back in my new role,” said Allen. “I had a great experience there when I was a student-athlete and I have a passion for giving student-athletes a similar experience.”

Allen returns to Kansas from Northwest Missouri State University where he has been a graduate assistant for cross country and track and field. He also worked as a personal coach for several high school students including one student who won three Kansas State Championships.

“We are excited to have Joel back at Tabor,” said Rusty Allen vice president for enrollment management and athletics. “His experiences while at Tabor and in his roles since have prepared him well for this next step in his career.”

Allen received a B.A. in Health and Physical Education from Tabor and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Applied Health and Sport Science from Northwest Missouri State University.
