The Christian Leader Index 1937-1959

The Christian Leader, our Mennonite Brethren (MB) periodical, began in 1937 as a publication for our youth, and soon became the denominational publication for all MB constituents in the United States and Canada. The periodical for this time frame contains articles and brief news items about a variety of topics, including the MB conferences, MB theology and concerns, MB missions, Tabor College and other MB educational institutions, events in the life of MB congregations (baptisms, ordinations, pastoral changes, church anniversaries, tragedies) as well as events in the lives of the members of the MB congregations (obituaries, weddings, anniversaries). News items from Mennonite Central Committee, Civilian Public Service, the broader Evangelical, Anabaptist, and political world also appear, along with book reviews and editorials.
