Wife of National Geographic Photographer Speaking at Lifelong Learning Nov. 20

Jim Richardson - National Geographic PhotographerHILLSBORO, Kan. – Kathy Richardson, wife of National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson, will be the next speaker at Lifelong Learning, 9:45 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20 in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center on campus in Hillsboro.

Her session is entitled, “On Stage, Back Stage: The Working Life of National Geographic Photographer Jim Richardson as Told By His Spouse Kathy Richardson.”

Richardson, who’s been married to her husband for 36 years, will share highlights from his 30 stories with National Geographic and showcase work from his studio, Small World, located on Main Street in Lindsborg, Kan. Richardson will also share personal tales of his journey.

“I hope to offer a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to tell complex stories through world-class visuals,” said Richardson. “As usual, nothing in life is as easy as it looks and Jim Richardson’s job is no different.”

The public is welcome to attend all Lifelong Learning sessions and may register at the door for $5. Attendees may enjoy lunch in the Tabor College cafeteria after the session at the discounted price of $4.
