Athletic Training Room to be Named After Jenessa Hlad

Jenessa Hlad

HILLSBORO, Kan. – A dedication ceremony for the Jenessa Hlad Athletic Training Facility will be held outside the north end of the football field at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17 to honor former Tabor student Jenessa Hlad, who died unexpectedly Friday, July 24, 2015 from a septic infection.

“Jenessa was a dedicated student leader in our athletic training program,” said Rusty Allen, vice president of intercollegiate athletics. “We all miss her a great deal. It is appropriate and meaningful to name the facility after her. Everyone is welcome to the dedication.”

The athletic training staff will be wearing t-shirts in honor of Hlad for the dedication ceremony and football game. Additional orders for t-shirts can be purchased online at www.wearatomic.com. T-shirt sales will continue through Friday, Nov. 6. Proceeds from all t-shirt purchases will contribute to an athletic training scholarship funded in Hlad’s memory.
