HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College tenor and music major, Trevor Morris, will be performing his senior voice recital at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 at the Tabor College Chapel located in the H.W. Lohrenz Building.

Morris, son of Judy and Kerry Morris from Murdock, Kan., will be performing a variety of musical selections including: “Comfort Ye My People” and “Every Valley Shall Be Exalted” from George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah”; “Il mio Tesoro” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; “Il mio bel foco,” by Benedetto Marcello; six songs from “Dichterliebe” by Robert Schumann; “Vainement, ma bien-aimee,” by Édouard Lalo; “Le Soir,” by Ambroise Thomas; “The Last Rose of Summer,” by Thomas Moore; “Down by the Sally Gardens,” by William Butler Yeats; and “The Green-eyed Dragon,” by Wolseley Charles.

“I like art songs,” Morris said. “Many of them are from the Romantic period and have wonderful melodies and accompaniments.”

Morris has enjoyed his musical experience since coming to Tabor four years ago.

“I have been singing and playing instruments since I arrived here,” he said. “I have been able to be a part of numerous extracurricular music groups, most of which have been worship bands. I have also been able to work as a worship leader at local churches due to my positions at Tabor.

“The music staff at Tabor is very knowledgeable and (they) provide a lot of support in technical advancement,” Morris added. “My instructor (Brad Vogel) is also my academic adviser and he has been extremely helpful in the organizational process, as well as the learning process.”

Morris is working on a degree in music and is in the pre-physical therapy program. After graduation, he plans on going through a physical therapy assistant program. He eventually wants to work his way up to an education compensation program to attain a doctorate in physical therapy. Morris is getting married in July to Tabor senior, Sara Sagner. After the wedding, the couple plans to live in Hutchinson while he attends P.T.A. school and she student teaches.
