Chad Newhard

Head Baseball Coach

Coach Newhard enters his first season as head baseball coach at Tabor. He will also serve as an instructor of physical education.

“I am excited about the opportunity that I have here at Tabor. My goal is to build a tradition of excellence that challenges student-athletes to grow in three areas: as a student, a person, and a baseball player.”

Coach Newhard spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at IPFW. While at IPFW, Newhard was a part of a 2005 team that set a school record for wins at the Division 1 level and finished the season ninth in the nation in stolen bases and 29th in team batting average. Coach Newhard’s primary responsibilities were with infielders and hitters. He was the position coach for one professional draft pick.

Prior to coming to IPFW, Newhard served as the head coach at Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, MI in 2003 and 2004. While at Glen Oaks, Newhard compiled an overall record of 66-39, while qualifying for post-season play and garnering a national ranking in both seasons. Prior to being a head coach, Newhard served as an assistant coach at Glen Oaks under head coach Joel Mishler, for the 2001 and 2002 seasons. Overall in his time at Glen Oaks, Newhard coached over 30 players that went on to play at four year schools, and one professional draft pick. Newhard also served as an assistant coach at Grace College in 2000 for head coach Glen Johnson. He has also spent time as an associate scout for the Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays.

Newhard graduated from Grace College in 1999 with a bachelor degree in Sports Studies. He played four seasons with the Lancers for Head Coach Glen Johnson. Newhard received his Masters degree from Indiana University in Secondary Education.

Mike Brouillette

Assistant Coach

Coach Brouillette is in his first year as an assistant baseball coach at Tabor. He comes from Goshen, Indiana where he was Goshen High School’s pitching coach for the past six seasons. In addition to his high school responsibilities, he’s developed many area pitchers through private lessons and camps.

Brouillette’s primary responsibility at Tabor will be oversight of the pitchers and catchers, “We are very fortunate to have Coach Brouillette in our program here at Tabor College,” states Coach Newhard. “Mike has the knowledge and energy that is needed at the college level. Mike understands what it takes to be successful as a player and will do a great job communicating that to each player. “

Brouillette has been married to Mandi for 11 years. They have three children, Bryce 8, Brant 6 and Brooklyn 4.
