Larry Ediger has returned to his hometown and alma mater to serve as Interim Director of Instrumental Music. Since graduation from Tabor College, he has taught instrumental music at Berean Academy in Elbing, Kansas; served as brass instructor at Fresno Pacific College; served as pastor at Washington Height Community Church (Mennonite Brethren) in Bismarck, North Dakota, at Western Oaks Community Church (Mennonite Brethren) in Bethany, Oklahoma, at Shawnee Bible Church in Shawnee, Kansas, and Berean Bible Church in Olathe, Kansas; as well as taught instrumental and vocal music at Berean Christian School in Olathe, Kansas, and instrumental and vocal music for grades 5-12 at Heritage Christian Academy in Olathe, Kansas. Having taught instrumental and vocal music to students of all ages for over 14 years and serving in pastoral ministries for over 24 years (sometime simultaneously!) he brings a wide variety of experiences and people helping skill sets to his current ministry assignment at Tabor.
Larry and his wife, Nancy, reside in Hillsboro, which brings both of them back to the section of Kansas where they grew up. They have a daughter, Janina, who graduated from Tabor College and teaches Language Arts in a Christian school in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where she resides with her husband, Andy Fisher. They also have a son, Jeremy, who after graduation from Kansas State University teaches Junior High and High School science at a Christian school in the Kansas City metro area where he resides with his wife Madison.
Larry is excited to work with college students once again and help them develop their God given musical abilities. When not working in his office or found in a class he enjoys following his favorite athletic teams (coaching is in his blood – his father was a coach, he has coached at every school he served, and his son has coached as well), or helping his wife in her various landscaping projects.
