Human Trafficking Awareness Week

This 5k fundraiser run/walk will wrap up the Tabor College Social Work Club’s Human Trafficking Awareness Week. This is a week of events to bring awareness to the issue of human trafficking. The purpose of this run is to serve as a simple action step to raise funds for trafficking prevention.

Human Trafficking Awareness Week Schedule

Friday 4th

  • Concert 7pm at Big MB Church- doors open at 6:30pm
    The Afters, Kyle Sherman, and Tabor College’s own SP&D band.
    • Tickets can be purchased through the Tabor Bookstore and at ilivelove.org or itickets.com. $15 before, $20 at the door.

Monday 7th

  • Movie night in the Wohlgemuth located on Tabor Campus

Tuesday 8th

  • Chapel speaker: Kevin Austin with Set Free 11am & 11:40am
  • Human Trafficking Awareness Panel 7pm
    Participants: Kevin Austin- Set Free, Annie Schomaker- Set Free, Ginger Coakley- Set Free, Bailey Patton- Representative from WSU’s Center on Combating Human Trafficking, Jennifer Rapp – Attorney General Representative- Anti-Human Trafficking Unit.

Wednesday 9th

  • Late Night- Fair Trade Coffee & Caf Cookies 9:30-10:30pm

Thursday 10th

  • Chapel speakers: Annie Schomaker & Ginger Coakley from Set Free 11am & 11:40am
  • 27-hour Trafficking Gotchya Game 12pm Thursday (after chapel) – 3pm Friday.
    This is a campus-wide game in order to bring further awareness to human trafficking

Friday 11th

  • Finish up 27-hour Trafficking Gotchya Game (till 3pm)

Saturday 12th

  • Running Thru Traffic – walk/run/bike 5K
    • 8am biking
    • 8:45 am running/walking
    • Starting line in the Wohlgemuth parking lot located on Tabor campus
    • Individual Rate- $20 ($7 for each additional family member). Student rate- $10. Late Rate- $25.
    • T-shirts will be available
