Medical Technology Courses

The Medical Technology requirement requires 16 hours of biology courses, 16 hours of chemistry courses, five hours of mathematics, and an additional 12 hours of electives. Also, students will take 30 hours of clinical courses, transferred from a school of medical technology.

MT 435 Clinical Immunology
Includes immunohematology, the study of fundamentals of antigen-antibody reactions, blood groups and types, crossmatches, blood components, laboratory methods used in immunohematology studies, and serology, the theory of immunologic responses and procedures used in determination of serological studies.

MT 440 Clinical Immuno-Hematology
Study of fundamentals of antigen-antibody reactions, blood groups and types, crossmatches, blood components and the laboratory methods used in immunohematology studies, and theory of immunologic responses and procedures used in determination of serological studies.

MT 450 Topics in Medical Technology
Includes basic principles and practices of the medical laboratory, techniques, and special projects.
