Mary Beth Bowers will present “All Wheat Bread is Not Created Equal” at Lifelong Learning 9:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15 in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center.
Bowers, Kansas Wheat Commission spokeswoman, will bring the latest baking and nutrition information. She will explain the importance wheat has had on the central Kansas culture.
Raised on a farm in the Flint Hills north of Marion, she later settled close to the Kjellin homestead, where she and her husband raised four children on their diversified farm.
Bowers is an active member of the Eastmoor Methodist Church, and has benefited the Marion community with her creativity and volunteer spirit. She is an expert baker and has promised to bring each Lifelong Learning participant a slice of bread from her own oven.
The public is welcome to attend all Lifelong Learning programs and may register at the door for $4 per session.
Attenders may enjoy lunch in the college cafeteria after the session at the discount price of $4. For more information, contact Connie Isaac, director, 620-947-5964 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
