Brent Warkentin, lead pastor of Wichita’s First Mennonite Brethren Church, will present “The Great Commission Today” at a special Lifelong Learning Thanksgiving Dinner, 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22.
Warkentin is a 1985 graduate of Tabor College and earned a master of divinity degree from Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary in Fresno, Calif.
Before assuming the lead pastorate of Wichita’s First Mennonite Brethren Church, Warkentin and his wife, Joan, served at Buhler MB Church, Garden Valley Church in Garden City and Reedley MB Church in Reedley, Calif.
Warkentin spent many of his formative years in Indonesia, where his parents were missionaries.
Currently chairman of MB Mission, the global mission agency of the Mennonite Brethren churches of North America, he will speak of the state of Christianity in the world today.
Tickets for the event are $10 and must be purchased before Tuesday Nov. 19.
