I herald from the great state of New Mexico, bountiful in green chile, spicy and delicious entrees, and a plethora of cows! Growing up on a dairy I learned the simple pleasures of life and fell in love with the country. Hillsboro was a stretch (I’ve never lived in town), but I adore the laid back and tight sense of community it offers.
The second of 4, I have an older brother, Dominic, younger brother and soon to be Tabor-student, Thomas, and a younger sister Danielle. According to family terminology, I am a genuine “Pork-and-Bean” in the flesh; half Portuguese, half hispanic, and I carry a passion for life characteristic to each culture. Therefore, if you meet me, it is certain to be a louder-than-normal hello. My dad was number 8 of 17 children in a tight knit dairy family. With that many tias and tios (aunts and uncles), we have accumulated over 120 cousins and second-cousins combined and we know each other by name. Our family is entirely relational due to nature and nurture which explains why I love the Tabor-Hillsboro community. It’s about relationships within community and building a relationship with Christ.
I am a 2010 Tabor grad with a B.S. in Biology and Secondary Education. I played volleyball and ran track for current head coaches Amy Ratzlaff and Dave Kroeker, respectively. Passionate about the mission and atmosphere of Tabor College, I returned in hopes to supplement current students with same experience I was blessed with while attending TC.
As for hobbies, don’t ask. I have too many. :)
